All days could not be as bad as Thursday and sure enough, Friday was a gem !

As by magic, all the paperwork for the car got sorted. I even had enough time to go to DHL to collect the car parts I had ordered from France (pre-filter for those who want to know).

Here, a quick negotiation brought the ‘duties’ (or call it a bribe since I did not see a form or a receipt) down from a stratospheric 400 USD to a more reasonable £20, which I promptly paid off. Like in all good movies, the security guard at the gate stopped me and asked to see a receipt from the Ghana Customs. Again, I politely told him to f**k off and talk to DHL and drove off. Definitely a good day!

There are some bits and bobs left to do on the car, like fitting the pre-filter and we should be on our way on Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest.
